Job Overview:
Seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This high-impact leadership role will oversee accounting, cost accounting, inventory controls, financial reporting, and ERP-driven process improvements while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a continuous improvement mindset to support operational excellence and financial performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Strong manufacturing accounting and cost accounting background
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience with cost accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience
- Must be hands on and comfortable on the production floor
- Leadership experience managing or mentoring finance/accounting teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- High ethical standards with a collaborative leadership style
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise ITAR compliant
Preferred Requirements:
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments
- Oracle e-Business Suite experience preferred
- Experience with SOX compliance and external audits
- Experience leading ERP upgrades or system implementations
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly close and financial reporting within a 3-day close cycle
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and inventory accuracy
- Analyze budget versus actual financial performance and support quarterly business reviews
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ERP system enhancements
- Ensure SOX compliance and coordinate external audit activities
- Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing finance team
- Partner cross-functionally with leadership on strategic initiatives and cost productivity efforts
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support operational decision-making through financial analysis and reporting
