If you are a skilled CNC professional seeking to transition away from corporate restructuring, broken promises, and the frustration of constantly jumping from one unfamiliar workstation to another, this direct-hire opportunity provides a stable career path. Operating as a family-owned, independent custom contract manufacturer in the Sugar Bush area, this organization has expanded its production footprint 7 times over the past two decades. Serving a highly diversified base of industrial clients, the company maintains a remarkably steady project backlog and insulated job security year-round.

The organization reinvests heavily in its manufacturing capabilities, ensuring the production floor is equipped exclusively with new, high-specification technology. Operators here benefit from a highly respected "home machine" program, giving you personal ownership and technical autonomy over your workstation without micromanagement. The team operates under a shared pride in daily craftsmanship, supported by comprehensive employee benefits, steady career advancement, and a stable work culture where employees routinely retire.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

  • Execute Independent Machine Setups: Perform complete setups, tooling changes, work-offset adjustments, and operations on CNC machinery using engineering drawings, setup sheets, and process documentation.
  • Operate Advanced Multi-Axis Equipment: Setup and run a high-end machinery group, including Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), and multi-axis Mazak turning equipment.
  • Part Verification & Precision Inspection: Load, machine, and inspect custom, tight-tolerance components to ensure finished work adheres strictly to engineering prints and quality tolerances.
  • Maintain Dedicated Workstation Ownership: Manage your designated cell under the "home machine" program by monitoring tool wear, executing routine operator-level PMs (checking fluids, filters, coolant levels), and keeping the area safe.
  • Collaborate for Floor Efficiency: Coordinate directly with the 2nd shift team lead and maintenance personnel to maximize machine uptime, eliminate bottlenecks, and maintain smooth production flow.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

  • 3 to 5+ Years CNC Setup & Operation Depth: Verifiable hands-on track record executing setup, tool offsets, and operations specifically on multi-axis VMCs, HMCs, or CNC turning centers (Mazak experience a plus).
  • Print Reading & Quality Inspection Mastery: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints paired with hands-on proficiency using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges to inspect your own work.
  • Stable Employment History: Demonstrated track record of job stability, solid attendance, personal reliability, and long-term commitment to past employers.
  • 2nd Shift & 4x10 Schedule Alignment: Complete readiness and lifestyle alignment to work a stable Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM – 1:00 AM) shift, with the option for voluntary Friday overtime.
  • Proactive & Accountable Mindset: Strong personal accountability, pride in craftsmanship, and practical troubleshooting skills on the shop floor.

Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)

  • Technical Credentials: Associate Degree or technical diploma in CNC Machining, Precision Machining Technology, or Tool & Die.
  • Programming & G-Code Fluency: Ability to perform basic G-code/M-code edits at the control to optimize machining cycles and feed/speed rates.
  • Mazak Controls Depth: Direct experience operating or setting up Mazatrol conversational controls alongside standard FANUC/Siemens controls.
