Location: Hybrid role based in Austin, Texas, with attorneys expected in the office 2–3 days per week for collaboration, mentorship, and team connection.

Note: Candidates must have law firm experience, a background in affordable housing finance and/or commercial real estate transactions, strong academics, and admission in Texas. Candidates must be located in Texas or willing to relocate to Austin.

Job Description

  • Handle affordable housing finance and commercial real estate transactional matters.
  • Represent clients in multifamily and affordable housing-related transactions.
  • Work on matters involving federal, state, and local housing finance programs.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents.
  • Support deal execution from structuring through closing.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the practice on sophisticated real estate finance matters.
  • Advise clients on transaction strategy, documentation, and related legal issues.
  • Manage multiple matters in a productive, fast-paced practice environment.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of directly relevant attorney experience
  • Law firm experience required
  • Experience in affordable housing finance and/or commercial real estate transactions
  • Strong academics
  • Strong writing, research, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Texas bar admission required
  • Experience with Section 103, Section 142(d), Section 42, Fannie Mae, and/or Freddie Mac matters is a plus
