What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Drive Machining Process Optimization: Serve as the primary hands-on Manufacturing Engineer for CNC operations, leading process development, cycle-time reduction, and real-time troubleshooting across multi-axis mills and lathes.
- Evaluate Prints & Machining Strategies: Analyze customer prints, 3D models, and GD&T specifications to establish optimal sequences of operation, cutting parameters, and workholding methods.
- Develop Manufacturing Documentation: Create clear process plans, setup sheets, tooling packages, and standardized work instructions for shop floor personnel.
- Design Fixtures & Select Tooling: Assist with workholding fixture design and tool trials utilizing CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD) alongside Mastercam CAM software.
- Partner with Shop Floor Teams: Collaborate directly with machinists, setup technicians, and quality inspectors to resolve dimensional variances, review CMM reports, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Execute Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean/5S initiatives to maximize tool life, minimize scrap, optimize throughput, and manage customer-driven engineering revisions.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- 3+ years of Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience focused heavily on precision CNC machining (castings, forgings, structural steel, aluminum).
- Technical Mastery: Strong fluency in GD&T, blueprint reading, cutting feeds and speeds, and advanced workholding practices.
- CAD/CAM Competency: Practical experience utilizing CAM software (Mastercam strongly preferred) and CAD design software (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD).
- Education & Experience Balance: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology preferred—however, a degree is NOT strictly required if backed by strong hands-on CNC setup and process engineering depth.
- Shop-Floor Mindset: A proactive, collaborative approach to walking the floor, solving problems alongside machinists, and bridging engineering concepts with production realities.
- Local Proximity: Residing within a comfortable daily driving distance of the Menomonee Falls, WI area.
