Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced In-Mold Grading (IMG) Supervisor to oversee daily forming press, bonding, and wrapping operations within a manufacturing facility in its start-up phase. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, monitoring equipment performance, maintaining product quality, and ensuring safe and efficient

manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in forming press operations, material bonding, and surface finishing processes. This individual will play an important role in establishing production procedures, training employees, and supporting operational readiness as the facility transitions into full production.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations & Supervision

  • Supervise daily in-mold grading, forming press, bonding, and wrapping operations to meet production, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Coordinate employee assignments, production schedules, and workflow across assigned operations.
  • Monitor forming press parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Oversee manual and automated bonding and wrapping processes, ensuring proper material alignment, tension, and adhesion.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, equipment performance concerns, and recurring defects to minimize downtime.

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Ensure finished products meet customer specifications for surface appearance, texture quality, adhesion, and overall fit and finish.
  • Identify and resolve defects, including wrinkles, bubbles, material damage, and improper bonding.
  • Support process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and maintain consistent manufacturing standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve operational challenges.

Team Leadership & Safety

  • Train, coach, and develop production employees on equipment operation, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor employee performance, reinforce accountability, and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Enforce workplace safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and 5S standards.
  • Support start-up activities, including equipment readiness, work instruction development, and implementation of standardized production procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience involving forming presses, in-mold grading, lamination, bonding, or related production processes.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with forming press equipment, including compression molding, vacuum forming, or thermoforming, strongly preferred. Metal stamping press experience alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Knowledge of TPO, films, fabrics, and other materials used in bonding and wrapping applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, monitor process parameters, and identify product defects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Manufacturing facility currently in the start-up phase.
  • Operations will support both first and second shifts.
  • Must be flexible to support production schedules, equipment start-up, employee training, and operational needs.
  • Position requires regular presence on the production floor, including standing, walking, and working around industrial machinery.
