Our client is a well-established, mid-sized, multi-site, family-owned commercial laundry and linen service company. This type of business operates in a highly operational, production-driven environment similar to other large, automated manufacturing organizations.

Job Summary:
The Director of Finance and Accounting is a senior leadership role responsible for financial reporting accuracy, close processes, cash flow visibility, working capital performance, and internal controls. This position partners directly with executive leadership and banking partners to support strategic planning, financial modeling, and business growth initiatives while also leading and developing the accounting team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Own financial reporting accuracy and deliver reporting to internal leaders and banking partners
  • Lead annual audit coordination and support tax compliance activities
  • Monitor and manage working capital performance across AP, AR, inventory, and other balance sheet areas
  • Oversee AR performance and support improvements to cash collection and liquidity
  • Develop cash flow forecasting and financial visibility tools to maintain a strong liquidity position
  • Maintain timely and accurate lender and covenant reporting
  • Analyze, assess, and approve capital expenditure requests in accordance with company policy
  • Develop and maintain multi-year financial plans (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and ensure alignment with strategic goals
  • Build scenario models to support strategic decisions and capital investment planning
  • Partner directly with the CEO and President on financial performance, strategic planning, and growth initiatives
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize credit facility utilization
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team
  • Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions
  • Establish departmental goals, expectations, and accountability for results
  • Connect financial performance with operations, purchasing, and sales to drive execution and budget discipline
Requirements:
  • 10+ years finance and/or accounting leadership background with strategic finance experience in a manufacturing organization. Commercial laundry industry experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Multi-site or multi-entity experience
  • Proficiency with Sage software strongly preferred
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred
  • Experience in operational or AR-intensive businesses; service industry experience preferred
  • Proven cash flow and working capital management capability, including strategic financial planning
  • Experience managing banking relationships and credit facilities
  • Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and accountability for results
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
