Production Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing (Multi-Site, Multi-Shift Operations)

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations across two facilities and two shifts, managing a team of 50+ employees. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and on-time delivery within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in fast-paced operations, understands special processes, and can drive performance across multiple teams and locations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily production across two buildings and two shifts, ensuring seamless coordination and communication
  • Manage and develop a team of 50+ operators, leads, and supervisors
  • Drive accountability, performance standards, and team engagement across all shifts
  • Establish clear KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity

Production & Performance

  • Ensure production targets and customer delivery schedules are consistently met
  • Optimize staffing, scheduling, and workflow across both facilities
  • Monitor and improve key metrics: throughput, efficiency, scrap, and downtime
  • Coordinate cross-shift handoffs to ensure continuity and consistency

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all operations meet requirements for:
    • Nadcap
    • ISO 9001
    • AS9100
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain compliance and resolve issues
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to all process and documentation requirements

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Identify and implement process improvements across both sites
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues
  • Support automation and process upgrades where applicable

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams
  • Ensure alignment between production capabilities and customer demands
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and process transitions into production

Safety & Culture

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across both facilities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Develop a high-performance, team-oriented environment focused on accountability and growth

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in aerospace or regulated industries
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing large teams (50+ employees)
  • Experience managing multi-shift and/or multi-site operations
  • Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, and performance metrics

Preferred

  • Experience with special processes (thermal spray, coatings, chemical processing)
  • Familiarity with Nadcap and aerospace quality standards
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
