Our client is a supplier of used and rebuilt industrial/manufacturing equipment, with a large warehouse and production facility in Earth City, MO. They are seeking a Parts Department Manager to to oversee all aspects of parts inventory, procurement, and distribution in support of retail, repair and rebuild operations.
Job Summary: The Parts Manager will take ownership of all parts and inventory-related functions. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficiency by ensuring critical parts and supplies are available when needed. The ideal candidate will bring a background in parts management (preferably within an industrial or mechanical environment) and a hands-on, organized approach to inventory control, vendor management, and internal coordination.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate inventory of all parts and consumables for retail sale or used in repair and rebuild operations.
Source, order, and manage timely delivery of parts from approved suppliers.
Build and manage vendor relationships, negotiating pricing and delivery timelines.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to anticipate parts needs.
Maintain labeling, storage, and security protocols for all parts and materials.
Utilize and update computerized inventory management systems.
Monitor inventory usage and recommend reorder points to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Assist technicians in identifying correct parts needed for service.
Organize product returns, warranty claims, and replacement requests.
Prepare order confirmations for invoicing and coordinate with internal departments.
Ensure compliance with safety and procurement policies.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in parts management (industrial, manufacturing, HVAC, or mechanical industries ideal).
Strong skills in parts inventory software and MS Office.
Familiarity with industrial equipment and related parts.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy parts as needed.
Forklift certification is a plus.
