Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist seeking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students? We are looking for a motivated and skilled School-Based Physical Therapist (PT, RPT) to join our student services team in Green Cove Springs, FL. In this role, you will deliver exceptional physical therapy services to help students improve physical function, navigate their school environment safely, and access their educational curriculum to their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate & Assess: Conduct thorough, school-based physical therapy evaluations to identify gross motor delays, mobility limitations, and posture or gait dysfunctions to determine IEP/504 eligibility.

  • Design Educational Care Plans: Develop individualized treatment programs and measurable IEP goals focused on enhancing functional mobility, gross motor skills, and accessibility within the school setting.

  • Execute Targeted Interventions: Implement effective, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address movement dysfunctions, strength, balance, coordination, and motor planning.

  • Promote Safety & Accessibility: Train students on proper movement techniques, adaptive equipment usage, wheelchair mobility, and safe transfer strategies during the school day.

  • Collaborate & Educate: Partner closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, SLPs, school staff, and parents on classroom accommodations, physical modifications, and home/school carryover exercises.

  • Maintain Documentation: Complete timely, compliant documentation including initial assessments, IEP progress reports, daily service logs, and annual reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or clinical doctorate (DPT) in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Licensure: Active (or eligible for) Physical Therapist license in the State of Alabama.

  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.

    • Intrinsic motivation, self-initiative, and a proactive approach to student care.

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive, engaging demeanor with children, school staff, and families.

    • Prior experience in pediatric or school-based therapy is a strong plus.
