Project Scheduler

Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Scheduler to support engineering and equipment supply projects by developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, this role is responsible for establishing realistic schedules, monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and helping ensure projects are delivered on time and in accordance with contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with critical path scheduling, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments to keep projects on track.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using industry best practices and project contractual requirements.
  • Build, manage, and revise Level 4 resource-loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, identify schedule impacts, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Analyze schedule performance and provide regular progress reports to Project Managers and leadership teams.
  • Maintain schedule accuracy by incorporating project updates, milestone changes, task completion, and meeting outcomes.
  • Coordinate scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, project management, and other project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to support project planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Perform baseline comparisons, forecasting, and "what-if" schedule analysis to evaluate project risks and recovery strategies.
  • Assist with contingency planning by working closely with Project Management and Project Controls.
  • Identify critical path activities, schedule constraints, and potential project delays while helping drive timely resolution.
  • Support cross-functional coordination by tracking action items and ensuring schedule-related issues are communicated effectively.
  • Prepare routine scheduling reports and other project documentation as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of project scheduling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering, industrial, construction, mining, or heavy equipment projects is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of mining and/or bulk material handling projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

Candidates should possess working knowledge and practical experience with:

  • Primavera P6 (advanced proficiency required)
  • Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
  • Resource-loaded project schedules
  • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Schedule forecasting and progress analysis
  • Schedule baseline management
  • Project reporting and documentation

Preferred Experience

  • Engineering design or industrial project environments.
  • Mining, bulk material handling, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Resource planning, project controls, and schedule performance reporting.
  • Schedule risk analysis and recovery planning.

Compensation: Starting at approximately $85,000 (Or more for qualified candidates) annually, with additional consideration based on experience and qualifications.
