Assistant Production Manager

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Production department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Responsibilities include training individuals; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining individuals; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

·       Supervises production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all requirements.

·       Determines manufacturing priorities based on established production schedules.

·       Interprets specifications and makes judgment about the acceptability of production that is in process.

·       Implements safety programs to ensure the safety of individuals working in the area.

·       Assures product quality.

·       Assists individuals in problem solving and exercises considerable judgment.

·       Directs routine equipment maintenance and setup.

·       Confers with other supervisory personnel to coordinate activities within the plant.

·       Reports machine and equipment malfunction and takes proper action.

·       Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.

·       Follows production schedules and estimates work hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

·       Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

·       Established or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

·       Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

·       Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.

Requirements

·       Bachelor Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent.

·       Four years of Manufacturing Experience.

·       Two or more years of supervision experience.
