About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on B Crew Superintendent to lead night shift manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This leadership role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement while ensuring production schedules and customer requirements are met. The ideal candidate is a proven people leader with experience developing supervisors, managing KPIs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all B Crew manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive shift performance.
- Direct, coach, and develop Shift Supervisors while mentoring employees for future growth opportunities.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Establish, track, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, productivity, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and operational excellence.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve overall performance.
- Lead daily production meetings and communicate critical operational updates across departments.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, engineering changes, and process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems, environmental standards, and all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, shift reports, and operational records.
- Promote adherence to company values, employee policies, and collective bargaining agreement (where applicable).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in a Superintendent, Production Manager, or Operations Manager role.
- Experience leading multiple production supervisors and large hourly workforces.
- Strong background in employee development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Proven ability to establish, measure, and improve operational KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives is preferred.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, quality systems, and workplace safety.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.

- Ability to build high-performing teams and create a culture of accountability.
- Strong decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in union manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience is preferred.
