Our client in the linen and uniform service industry is currently seeking a Route Supervisor in the Tampa, FL area.  

Position Summary:
Be responsible for the supervision of 5-7 routes. This includes route reps (drivers), accompanying service representatives and customers associated with those 10 routes. Manage and improve performance of all route reps (including Safety, Sales/Upselling, AR Collections, Customer Retention, and Productivity). When not on route, you'll visit customers to conduct inventories, renew service agreements, and build goodwill.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage route drivers to ensure timely delivery, high-quality customer service, and safety compliance.
  • Mentor and train route drivers, including riding with them to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Optimize route schedules, coordinate special deliveries, and ensure all routes are covered.
  • Manage route drivers' schedules and attendance. You will occasionally fill in for absent drivers, performing all duties of a route driver in their absence.
  • Review and respond to any customer issues, resolving complaints, conducting account evaluations, and strengthening relationships.
  • Conduct loyalty visits at customer locations. Work to improve customer retention, negotiate and renew agreements, conduct inventories, etc.
  • Support sales and retention by promoting additions, identifying new business opportunities, and renewing service agreements/contracts.
  • Inspect delivery vehicles, enforce safety procedures, and ensure adherence to company policy and regulations.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday 6am – 4pm (hours will vary based on the needs of the business)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years supervisory experience in a route service industry (Laundry, Linen, Uniform industry preferred).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Organized, must be able to prioritize and act decisively.
  • Ability to lift, load, and move heavy linen carts and bundles
  • Bilingual Spanish and English preferred
