Location: Hybrid opportunity based in Seattle, WA, with a target schedule of 3 days in office and 2 remote, though attorneys who prefer to be in office more often are welcome.

Note: Must be licensed in Washington and have strong litigation experience in products liability, toxic tort, personal injury, wrongful death, or closely related civil defense matters. Oregon licensure is a plus.

Job Description

  • Defend products liability matters involving asbestos, silica, benzene, and other complex exposures
  • Handle personal injury and wrongful death litigation from early case strategy through resolution
  • Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents
  • Develop defense strategy with minimal supervision and advise clients on risk, exposure, and case direction
  • Manage fact development, formal discovery, witness interviews, and trial preparation
  • Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives
  • Work closely with retained experts and prepare them for deposition and trial
  • Represent clients in court, hearings, mediations, and other litigation-related proceedings
  • Prepare responses to written discovery, objections, and deposition-related filings
  • Travel as needed for depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and related case activity
  • Maintain a minimum annual billable requirement of 1,800 hours

Qualifications

  • J.D. required
  • Licensed in Washington State
  • Oregon license is a plus
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Strong writing, deposition, analytical, and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex litigation with limited supervision
  • Experience with science- or medicine-driven litigation issues is strongly preferred
