Our client in the linen and uniform service industry is currently seeking a Sales Manager to support their expanding Portland, Oregon market.
Qualified candidates should have experience managing a team of hunters. Experience in the laundry, linen, and uniform service industry is preferred, and similar industries may also be considered.
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager leads and develops a team of business-to-business outside sales representatives focused on new account acquisition. This role drives revenue growth through strong pipeline management, field coaching, and accountability to performance metrics. The ideal candidate leads from the front, spends significant time in the field with sales reps, and builds a culture focused on winning new business and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of outside sales representatives focused on new business development
- Drive consistent weekly production through pipeline management and sales activity tracking
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, ride-alongs, and field coaching with sales team members
- Spend significant time in the field each week supporting and developing the team
- Run structured weekly sales meetings focused on performance, pipeline development, and skill improvement
- Recruit, hire, and onboard high-performing sales representatives
- Support the sales team in closing large opportunities and negotiating key deals
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable to activity and revenue targets
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics to ensure sales goals are achieved
- Improve pipeline visibility and ensure consistent tracking of opportunities
- Address underperformance quickly and provide coaching to drive improvement
- Collaborate with operations, service, and production teams to support customer onboarding and service delivery
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding sales performance and market growth initiatives
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in sales management, with proven field sales experience and results.
- Experience managing a team of hunters and business developers (not account managers)
- Experience in route-based B2B service industries required.
- Experience in the laundry, linen or uniform service industry is a huge plus.
- Strong coaching and team development skills
- Ability to lead by example with strong field presence and sales engagement
- Comfortable working in a high-accountability, metrics-driven sales environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
