We are seeking a Service Engineer to support installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of material handling and automation systems. This is a hands-on, field-based role working with conveyors and industrial equipment in manufacturing environments. This is a direct hire opportunity in the Columbus, OH area.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and automated systems

  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance

  • Support commissioning, testing, and startup of new or modified systems

  • Interpret engineering drawings and assist with on-site installation activities

  • Work with conveyors (Power & Free, skid, friction, transfers, etc.) and related automation equipment

  • Interface with customers, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve issues and support project execution

  • Assist with small project estimating, quoting, and coordination

Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming in a field environment preferred

  • Hands-on experience with industrial equipment, conveyors, or automation systems

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD tools is a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering 

  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or material handling environments

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel 30-50% (U.S., Canada, and Mexico)

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Physically able to work in industrial environments (climbing, lifting 25–50 lbs., extended standing/walking)
