We are currently recruiting for a Sales / Business Development Representative to drive growth across the United States market. This is a direct hire opportunity based in Novi, Michigan. This role is ideal for a self-driven, hunter-oriented sales professional with 1-5 years of experience in technical sales, who enjoys opening new doors, developing technical customer relationships, and building strategic pipelines in a specialized materials market.
You will be responsible for identifying and developing new customer accounts while supporting existing relationships and collaborating with technical teams to introduce high-performance materials into new applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within target industries and applications
- Build relationships with engineering, design, and R&D teams at prospective customers
- Generate and manage a qualified sales pipeline through proactive prospecting
- Promote engineering plastic materials and technical capabilities during early project stages
- Support and manage select existing customer accounts
- Coordinate with internal technical and product teams to support customer inquiries
- Track opportunities, customer activity, and pipeline development using CRM and Microsoft tools
- Travel within the United States as required to meet with customers and develop business relationships
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably focused on new business development
- Demonstrated success in prospecting and building new customer relationships
- Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with a strong hunter mentality
- Willingness to travel domestically within the United States as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the chemical, materials, or plastics industries
- Familiarity with engineering resins or high-performance materials
- Experience working with technical customers such as engineers, product designers, and advanced manufacturing professionals
