M-Team Solutions is recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist for a direct-hire opportunity with one of our customers in the Columbus, Ohio area.
This is a hands-on HR position supporting employees, managers, and HR leadership across a broad range of human resources functions. The ideal candidate will be an organized, professional HR practitioner who can balance employee relations, full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, training, and HR administration in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Human Resources Administration
- Administer HR programs, policies, and procedures for company personnel.
- Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information system data.
- Prepare HR reports, records, and documentation.
- Process personnel changes in HR databases and personnel files.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality when handling employee information.
- Participate in HR and administrative meetings and other professional development activities.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full lifecycle recruiting for exempt and nonexempt positions, students, and temporary employees.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and develop recruiting strategies.
- Manage and maintain the company's iCIMS Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Source candidates through community organizations, colleges, employment agencies, recruiting firms, media, and online resources.
- Build and maintain relationships with recruiting agencies and other third-party vendors.
- Attend career fairs and other recruiting events.
- Interview and evaluate candidates and compare qualifications against job requirements.
- Conduct reference checks and communicate candidate recommendations to hiring managers.
- Coordinate management interviews, including scheduling and candidate travel arrangements.
Onboarding & Employee Support
- Manage all aspects of the new-hire onboarding process.
- Prepare offer letters and coordinate background checks and drug screens.
- Conduct new employee orientation.
- Create and maintain personnel files.
- Respond to employment verification requests.
- Assist employees with enrollment in benefit plans.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees, departments, and managers.
- Assist with employee relations matters, counseling, and first-level disciplinary actions.
- Participate in employee incident investigations.
- Assist with exit interviews and outplacement counseling.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state employment regulations.
- Assist with affirmative action program administration.
- Maintain required EEO records, reports, and logs, including the annual EEO-1 report.
- Coordinate documentation for leaves of absence, including FMLA, Workers' Compensation, STD, and LTD.
HR Programs & Continuous Improvement
- Assist HR management with benefits administration, training, performance management, and policy implementation.
- Participate in developing HR department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Recommend improvements to HR processes and programs.
- Provide on-site HR assistance and direction to employees and management.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of HR experience; or
- Master's degree in Human Resource Management; or
- Five years of experience in human resources; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment, labor, and wage-and-hour laws.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems; iCIMS experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of ADP payroll systems is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard business applications.
- Strong understanding of HR recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HR information systems.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work overtime and travel as required.
