Our client, a growing manufacturing company with three locations, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Romeo, MI. This position is fully onsite and ideal for someone with experience in a job shop environment who enjoys working directly from customer prints to production.

 

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining methods of manufacture for new and repeat orders. This role requires strong blueprint interpretation skills and experience creating Bills of Material (BOMs) and manufacturing routings within an ERP system. Experience in metal fabrication and familiarity with defense industry standards are highly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review methods of manufacture for new and repeat orders

• Analyze customer drawings and technical data to create accurate BOMs and routings

• Estimate material requirements and labor hours

• Enter and maintain BOMs and routings in the ERP system

• Release work orders to production and procurement

• Review and update existing routers for accuracy, sequence of operations, and revision control

• Support engineering changes and collaborate with customer representatives on new programs

• Identify process improvements and recommend efficiency enhancements

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience

• Experience in a job shop and/or metal fabrication environment required

• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills (GD&T preferred)

• Experience creating BOMs and manufacturing routings

• ERP system experience required

• Defense industry, ITAR, AS9100, or military standards experience preferred

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
