IT Support Technician I
About the Role
We're hiring an IT Support Technician I to join our Tempe team ON SITE as the first point of contact for end-user technical support. This is a hands-on help desk role: you'll be the person our employees come to when a laptop won't boot, an account is locked, a printer won't cooperate, or a new hire needs a workstation ready on day one.
You'll work alongside an established IT team with an on-site director and strong support structure — this is a place to build a technical career, not to figure it out alone.
What You'll Do
First-level support (the core of this role)
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-user technical issues via phone, email, ticket queue, and desk-side
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, printer, and peripheral issues
- Perform basic Active Directory user management — account provisioning, password resets, unlocks, group membership
- Escalate appropriately, with clear documentation, when an issue needs a higher tier
- Support Microsoft 365 users across Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
Equipment and deployment
- Stage, image, and configure new systems for deployment
- Set up workstations, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals for new hires and transfers
- Handle and set up IT equipment on-site
Requests, procurement, and inventory
- Serve as primary contact for IT hardware and software requests
- Procure workstations, peripherals, software licenses, company cell phones, and hotspots through vendors
- Complete receiving of IT hardware to support invoice processing
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, lifecycle tracking, and cellular device records
- Support documentation of IT systems and environment
- Assist the IT team with projects and other assigned tasks
What We're Looking For
Required
Two or more years of professional IT experience. This is firm. We're looking for someone who has already worked in a technical support environment — who has taken real tickets from real users and resolved them. Internships, coursework, certifications, and home labs are valuable, but on their own they won't meet this requirement.
- 2+ years of hands-on IT experience, ideally in a help desk, service desk, or desktop support capacity
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting end-user hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams
- Working familiarity with current business hardware, software, and mobile devices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can explain a technical issue to a non-technical person without condescending to them
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass a technical vocabulary assessment
- Ability to work on-site in Tempe, four to five days per week
Nice to Have
- Experience with a ticketing/ITSM platform (ServiceNow, Jira, FreshService, Zendesk, or similar)
- Hands-on Active Directory experience in a production environment
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification
- Imaging and deployment experience (SCCM, Intune, MDT, Autopilot, or similar)
- Asset inventory or lifecycle tracking experience
What Success Looks Like Here
- A demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt
- Genuine interest in pursuing IT certifications and professional development
- Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and work ethic
- Active participation in department meetings and training
Please Note Before Applying
This is a Level I position. The 2+ year requirement is a floor, not a target.
Work authorization: Given the nature of our client environment, candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Work Environment
- Office-based environment with standard technology tools
- Frequent interaction with internal employees, managers, and external vendors
- May require handling and physical setup of IT equipment
