Welder / Fabricator
Location: Bardstown, KY
Position Summary
The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, and assembling structural steel components used in the manufacturing of secure modular buildings and specialized enclosures. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, perform high-quality welds, and safely operate fabrication equipment while meeting company quality and production standards.
Schedule
Day Shift
- Monday – Thursday
- 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Weekend Shift
- Friday – Sunday
- 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation
- Pay is based on experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding on structural steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble steel structures to required specifications.
- Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding.
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, plasma cutters, ironworkers, presses, and grinders.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
- Repair or rework welds as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Maintain welding equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
- Work closely with supervisors and production team members to meet production schedules.
- Assist with additional fabrication or assembly duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to pass a practical welding test.
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication preferred.
- Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and precision measuring tools.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
- AWS welding certifications are preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and welding fumes.
- Wear required PPE including a welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
