General Labor – Wood Shop

Location: Bardstown, KY

Position Summary

The Wood Shop General Laborer is responsible for assisting in the fabrication and assembly of wood components used in the construction of secure modular buildings. This position involves operating basic woodworking equipment, measuring and cutting materials, assembling components, and supporting production while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Schedule

Day Shift – NOW HIRING

• Monday – Thursday
• 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Weekend Shift – NOW HIRING

• Friday – Sunday
• 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Compensation

• Pay is based on experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and assemble wood components according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Operate woodworking equipment including table saws, miter saws, routers, drills, nail guns, and other hand and power tools.
• Build flooring systems, wall components, crates, and other wood assemblies.
• Read tape measures and perform accurate measurements.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the production area.
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Keep work areas clean and organized using 5S principles.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Work with team members to meet daily production schedules.
• Assist in other manufacturing departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or woodworking experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
