LAUNCH MANAGER SUMMARY:
 
The primary function and responsibility of the Launch Manager, is to assure the plant is prepared to launch new products, mid cycle enhancement, or another major projects as identified by the Plant Manager. 


LAUNCH MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for interface with Program Management to assure all Phase requirements are completed and provided in the proper formers to the respective sources
• Responsible for coordinating the activities of the Plant Launch Team to assure plant systems equipment, tracking programs are completed on time and in compliance with company systems
• Responsible for "Red Flag" process when launch is missing Key Quality or Timing Elements
• Responsible for all launch activity to ensure support departments stay in focus of launch objectives
• Responsible for providing accurate and timely reports of launch activity to upper management
• Prepared to coordinate multiple launches simultaneously
• Schedules and plans of pre-production parts to the customer
• Communication of program requirements to all related individuals
• Addresses designated facility capabilities and ensures issues/concerns are resolved prior to critical dates
• Supports TS16949 Business Systems

  
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree
• 5-10 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Previous program management or Launch experience
• General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems
• General knowledge of finance, including ability to read and understand financial data such as product income statements, return on investment analysis, net-present value analysis
• Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data
• Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership and assertiveness skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
• Solid knowledge/experience of Operations Manager role
