Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skill set
Schedule: Full-time | Onsite Position

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the time, materials, labor, and overall costs required to manufacture projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, experience reading blueprints, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, sales, and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive project estimates.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a machining, tooling, or metal fabrication background who enjoys problem-solving, cost analysis, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will work fully onsite alongside engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects including labor, materials, production time, and process expenses
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documents
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, customers, contractors, and suppliers to gather quote information
  • Source and communicate with vendors for material pricing and new product quotes
  • Complete and maintain estimating documentation within Epicor and company estimating systems
  • Attach all supporting documents to project opportunities and quotes within ERP systems
  • Evaluate product profitability and recommend cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist Sales teams with customer estimates, bids, and pricing proposals
  • Update estimates based on supplier pricing changes, labor adjustments, or production process modifications
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to quoting accuracy and manufacturing efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with company operational procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in estimating, purchasing, planning, engineering, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, machining, tooling, or metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Working Environment

This role operates primarily within a professional office environment while also interacting with manufacturing operations. Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, temperature changes, and manufacturing environments may occur periodically.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting required
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to maintain close vision and focus on detailed work

Additional Information

  • Less than 25% travel may be required
  • All employees have the authority to stop production and contain nonconforming products when necessary
  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities
