If you are a skilled machinist looking to escape the "feast or famine" cycles and instability of contract job shops, this direct-hire role offers a permanent professional home. The employer is a thriving, highly successful OEM manufacturer experiencing steady 15% annual growth with a historic corporate commitment to zero layoffs. Operating with a true "people-first" philosophy, they prioritize internal promotions, long-term job security, and continuous technical training on modern machining assets.

Unlike chaotic job shops, this OEM environment provides predictable, highly structured, and organized production schedules. The workspace is fast-paced, exceptionally clean, and collaborative. Instead of just loading parts, you will take true ownership over your machine cell—optimizing cycle times, troubleshooting complex geometries, and ensuring premium part integrity, all while backed by full corporate benefits and clear leadership advancement tracks.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

  • Perform intricate, multi-axis Swiss CNC lathe setups from scratch to support high-precision, close-tolerance production runs.
  • Review, execute, and fine-tune machine programming on the fly to maximize throughput, minimize cycle times, and extend tool life.
  • Manage end-to-end manufacturing cycles for complex components, overseeing everything from automatic bar-feeder alignment to finished part extraction.
  • Conduct rigorous quality inspections on completed pieces using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and depth gauges to ensure 100% drawing compliance.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults, correct axis deviations, and partner with maintenance to minimize cellular downtime.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work zone in alignment with lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement standards.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of verifiable experience setting up, operating, and optimizing specialized Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Proven capability to read mechanical blueprints and utilize precision metrology tools for first-article and in-process inspection.
  • Solid, reliable employment history demonstrating consistent attendance, safety-first habits, and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Internal drive to work independently and maintain high productivity on either an 8-hour first shift or a 10-hour second shift.
  • Strong pluses: Direct experience with Citizen, Star, or Tsugami machine platforms, or prior experience producing high-precision medical, aerospace, or specialized industrial components.
  • Proximity to the plant, with established residence within a dependable daily commuting distance of the Central Wisconsin / Juneau County corridor.
