A well-established and highly respected financial organization is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Commercial Lending to lead its commercial lending and business development efforts across a multi-state service area.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished commercial lending professional who understands both the credit side of the business and what it takes to develop relationships, grow a portfolio, and lead a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will bring significant commercial lending experience along with the ability to set strategy, develop people, and identify new opportunities for growth.
What You'll Do
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the organization's commercial lending and business development efforts
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of lending and business development professionals
- Drive growth of the commercial loan portfolio through new relationships, referrals, partnerships, and market expansion
- Provide leadership around loan structuring, credit quality, risk management, and overall portfolio performance
- Build and strengthen relationships with business owners, financial institutions, community organizations, economic development groups, and other key partners
- Develop and execute strategies to increase lending activity, market penetration, and overall production
- Work closely with executive leadership on lending strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term organizational goals
- Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities to expand into new industries, relationships, and geographic markets
- Recruit and develop strong lending talent while creating a collaborative, results-oriented culture
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and community networking opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Significant commercial lending experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial lending, banking, or financial services
- 5+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for developing and managing high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of commercial credit, financial statement analysis, cash flow, loan structuring, underwriting, and risk management
- Proven success growing commercial lending relationships and developing new business
- Experience managing or providing leadership over a commercial loan portfolio
- Strong network development, relationship-building, negotiation, and executive communication skills
- Ability to balance business development and growth with sound credit decisions
- Ability to travel throughout the region to meet with clients, partners, and community organizations
Compensation & Benefits
- $165,000–$180,000+ DOE
