Process Technician, Molding – 1st Shift

Location: St. Louis Park, MN
Compensation: $27–$35/hr (final offer based on experience, skill level, and overall contribution)

Role Overview

The Injection Molding Process Technician ensures efficient, high-quality production by setting up, operating, and optimizing injection and compression molding equipment. This hands-on, technical role includes monitoring processes, adjusting machine parameters, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting production goals. The position also serves as a technical resource on the floor, assisting with training and mentoring team members in a collaborative manufacturing environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Set up, operate, and calibrate injection and compression molding machines, including mold installation and auxiliary equipment.

  • Perform machine adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain optimal part quality and performance.

  • Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of molds and machines.

  • Sample materials, perform mold tryouts, and monitor cycle times to support productivity.

  • Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment.

  • Train and support technicians, production associates, and operators on processes and equipment.

  • Create and maintain accurate process documentation, machine settings, and production records.

  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to address defects, tooling issues, and corrective actions.

  • Assist with shift transitions and communicate key updates to supervisors and teammates.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scrap reduction, and operational excellence.

  • Maintain organized mold storage areas, equipment cabinets, and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies.


What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in plastics or manufacturing a plus.

  • 2+ years of injection molding setup and processing experience.

  • Strong knowledge of molding machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Familiarity with quality standards, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
