MDS is seeking a Traffic Engineer to play an essential role in the successful completion of transportation projects while ensuring they are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. The successful candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to work on traffic operations and modeling, safety analysis, multi-modal planning/implementation, signing and striping plans, signal and lighting design, temporary traffic control plans, and many other tasks.

Responsibilities may include:

·         Traffic analysis and modeling

·         Traffic plan design

·         Communication and collaboration

·         Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards

·         Experience in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

·         Proficiency in traffic analysis and design software

·         Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

·         Progressive traffic engineering related experience

·         B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) with Professional Engineer licensure (PE) in Minnesota

·         Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)

·         Knowledge of CADD software, preferably MicroStation

·         Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

·         Experience supervising staff
