Summary

Responsible for creating drawings in drafting software. Utilize technical and analytical abilities to complete tasks. Work effectively with Uni-Systems team and external customers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the team verbally and in writing
• Generate drawings and create models for projects in AutoCAD (80%), SolidWorks (10%) and SketchUp (10%)
• Work cooperatively with internal and external designers and engineers to ensure that the full intent of design is captured on the drawing
• Work effectively from sketched details received from a Designer or Engineer and drawing markups
• Check drawings for accuracy, especially when working from “redlines”
• Assure deadlines are met
• Apply excellent detail and layout principles when creating sheets
• Create architectural general arrangement drawings for use in client approvals and approvals by building authorities
• Create standard part and assembly drawings and build the bills of materials
• Create shop drawings for custom parts to be manufactured
• Follow established drawing numbering system for parts, assemblies and general arrangements
• Perform additional tasks as requested by management

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Design/ Drafting Technology
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in design/drafting
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficient at using software that is relevant to the business (Microsoft Office 365)
• General understanding of architectural drawings, construction drawings, parts, and assemblies
• Meticulous and thorough in completing work

• Communicates in a professional manner with management, employees, vendors, and customers

• Applies sound judgment and problem-solving skills to complex projects and business challenges
• Demonstrates initiative, accuracy and professionalism in producing quality work
