Position Overview
A well-established U.S. manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Process Technician for its 2nd Shift metal spinning operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal spinning equipment to produce high-quality metal components. It requires strong technical knowledge of metal spinning techniques, programmable and template lathes, precision measurement, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. As a technical lead on the shift, you'll also help train and mentor team members to support workflow and production goals.
What You'll Do

Set up and operate programmable and template spinning lathes and related metal spinning equipment.

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications, tolerances, materials, and tooling needs.

Monitor spinning processes, test sample materials, punches, and dies, and adjust equipment to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Troubleshoot tooling, materials, or machine performance issues and perform machine adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Inspect finished components using precision measurement tools to verify compliance with specifications.

Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of equipment, tooling storage, and documentation areas.

Create and update process documents, setup procedures, and production records.

Communicate effectively during shift handoffs and collaborate with engineering, quality, and support teams to resolve process issues.

Train and mentor setup technicians, operators, and assistants to ensure successful production execution.

Monitor cycle times and adjust processes to meet production targets.

Follow all safety protocols and uphold quality standards.
What You'll Bring

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or metal fabrication preferred.

2+ years of experience in metal spinning or related metal-forming processes.

Strong understanding of metal properties and forming techniques.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Proficiency with precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with quality processes, inspection standards, and troubleshooting techniques.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a production team environment.
