Job Title: Construction Sales Manager — General Contractor (Commercial & Residential)

 

Location: Big Lake, Minnesota — Travel to multiple offices required

 

Our customer is a full-service general contractor delivering commercial and residential projects. We are seeking an experienced Construction Sales Manager to grow revenue, improve margins, and build a high-performance, multi-location sales organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own sales strategy and execution for commercial and residential markets.
  • Deliver year-over-year revenue growth; provide documented track record of consistent YoY increases.
  • Build, coach and scale a multi-location sales team; recruit, train and set performance targets.
  • Improve closing ratios and drive profitable backlog by qualifying opportunities and refining proposals/pricing.
  • Develop pricing strategies and margin-improvement initiatives in partnership with estimating and operations.
  • Manage key client relationships, strategic accounts, and partner channels.
  • Implement CRM best practices, pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting.
  • Coordinate with project management, estimating, procurement and finance to ensure smooth handoffs and contract performance.
  • Travel regularly to regional offices and job sites; represent the company at industry events.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years sales leadership in construction/general contracting (commercial and residential experience required).
  • Documented, verifiable record of consistent year-over-year sales growth.
  • Proven experience building and managing sales teams across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated success increasing closing ratios and improving project margins.
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating, bidding, contract terms and project lifecycle.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and sales analytics; excellent forecasting abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience with large commercial projects and residential developments.
  • Network of industry contacts (developers, owners, architects, brokers).
