Experience Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with mechanical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience working with thermodynamics, fluid flow, and heat transfer in cooling or heating systems.
 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a professional engineering license.
  • Experience in designing complex modular building scale assemblies, with an understanding of mechanical tolerances and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience in estimating, mechanical design, operation, and commissioning of data center mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in thermal analysis and the design, commissioning, and construction of large-scale cooling, heating, and power generation systems.
  • Experience in mechanical design, medium-scale production, structural elements, and compliance with international building codes.
  • Proficiency in water/energy calculations and computer-aided engineering tools including cadence reality, applied flow technology fathom, Python, and autodesk construction cloud.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPV design and applications, as well as AWS and ISO standards, ASME Section IX or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of material compatibility and galvanic corrosion in fluid applications.
  • Experience leading design in relevant industries such as liquid cooling systems for HVAC, Data Centers, Chillers and related processes.
  • Experience leading test design and supervision, developing detailed test plans and analyzing results to make confident, data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to provide technical direction to multi-functional teams with open communication, identifying problems and establishing resolutions.
  • Strong and proven teamwork skills across departments and functional areas.
  • Up to 20% domestic intra-office and supplier travel required.

  • Drive multi-functional product development teams as a Subject Matter Expert, applying specialized knowledge (e.g., material science, weld engineering, piping systems) to design and develop products and manufacturing processes to enhance performance and repeatability while maintaining clean internal flow path to prevent debris and corrosion in fluid systems.
  • Ensure ASME compliance for piping and pressure vessels and promote standard adoption in new applications and seek out or develop additional standards as needed.
  • Collaborate across Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Test and Quality teams to optimize manufacturability and meet internal/industry/customer standards both within our own facility as well as at suppliers. Assist in specifying equipment and refining processes.
  • Establish product and test specifications and research the latest in industry advancements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership by sharing knowledge to strengthen technical depth of staff.
