Position Overview
A well-established U.S. manufacturer is seeking a skilled Process Technician specializing in metal spinning. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal spinning equipment to produce high-quality metal components. The position requires strong technical knowledge of spinning methods, programmable and template lathes, precision measurement, and adherence to safety and quality standards. As a technical lead, you will also provide training and support to team members to ensure consistent workflow and production output.
What You’ll Do

Set up and operate programmable and template spinning lathes and related equipment for production runs.

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specs, tolerances, materials, and tooling requirements.

Monitor spinning processes, test sample materials, punches, and dies, and make adjustments to maintain accuracy, quality, and productivity.

Troubleshoot and improve processes; perform machine adjustments to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.

Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with specifications.

Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of spinning equipment, tooling areas, and documentation.

Prepare and maintain accurate process documents, set-up procedures, and production records.

Communicate effectively during shift transitions and collaborate with engineering, quality, and support teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.

Train and mentor set-up technicians, assistants, and operators to maintain workflow, quality, and safety.

Track and evaluate cycle times, making process adjustments to meet production goals.

Ensure adherence to all safety policies and quality standards.
What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or metal fabrication is preferred.

2+ years of experience in metal spinning or closely related metal-forming processes.

Strong understanding of metal properties, forming techniques, and process control.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.

Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and process improvement.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
