Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Quality Technicians, promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Receiving Inspection function.
  • Design and refine inspection protocols and methods to ensure uniform evaluation of incoming materials across all product lines.
  • Set inspection priorities and manage resources to support production schedules while upholding quality standards.
  • Ensure Quality Technicians are thoroughly trained and skilled in inspection methods, precision measurement instruments, and evaluation technologies, maintaining standardized work and certification requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology, automation, and Lean methodologies to enhance inspection efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead investigations into supplier and incoming material quality issues, including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee Nonconformance Report (NCR) activity to ensure timely resolution and identify trends for systemic corrective actions.
  • Analyze receiving inspection performance metrics, initiate improvements, and enhance supplier quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive quality experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in leading receiving inspection or quality operations.
  • Proven track record in leading, coaching, and developing Quality Technicians or similar inspection teams.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving inspection methodologies, GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection technologies.
  • Experience in developing standardized inspection plans and instructions.
  • Proficient in quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA, or similar).
  • Experience with advanced inspection technologies like CMMs and vision systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and electronic quality management systems.
  • Experience in APQP, supplier development, or New Product Introduction.
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing environments.
