Maderra Personnel is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Construction Planner in Bishop Falls and Bay d'Espoir, NL.

Responsibilities:
- Work with project estimators during the capital budget phase in the year prior to execution and assist with the development of the work breakdown structure for capital construction.
- Determine outage requirements for proposed projects during the capital budget phase. Identification of construction resources, tools, and equipment during the budgeting phase, and ensure the proper task breakdown and logic is developed for capital construction, with site visits as required.
- Develop, maintain and optimize construction schedules using Primavera for capital projects.
- Define construction timelines, milestones, deliverables and critical path.
- Participate in the levelling of internal construction trades resources with regional work execution groups for the project execution year in accordance with equipment outage schedules and identify resource gaps.
- Add internal resource requirements to project construction work orders, including labor, tools, materials and consumables.
- Ensure internal construction resource allocation aligns with project budgets prior to filing the CBA.
- Review construction schedules and task sequencing with regional site supervisors.
- Track schedule performance against planned progress during project execution.
- Monitor daily/weekly progress during execution and update project schedules accordingly with site visits as required.
- Prepare progress reports and lookahead schedules during construction.
- Identify schedule risks, delays and mitigation strategies during construction and work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to ensure alignment.
- Attend planning meetings during project execution and communicate schedule risk to the project teams.
- Coordinate project interfaces between teams to avoid conflict or delays from an internal
construction resource standpoint.
Requirements:
- Engineer, Technologist, or equivalent experience in work execution, planning and scheduling;
- Knowledge of construction planning techniques required to support budgeting and project execution;
- Field experience working in the utilities industry in a capital project environment is considered an asset;
- Familiar with the latest construction techniques and industry trends concerning labor, equipment and material lead times;
- Working knowledge of Primavera is considered an asset; and
- Proficient with MS Office Suite products
