Maderra Personnel is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Finance Manager for a permanent position in St. John’s, NL.

Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, supporting both engineering services and recruitment divisions. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. The Finance Manager will work closely with senior leadership to provide financial insight that supports operational efficiency, growth, and profitability.

  • Leading the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate financial accounting, reporting and analysis
  • Preparing and completing, on a timely and accurate basis the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close out.
  • Managing the accounting consolidation and reporting for multiple companies, business units and branches.
  • Completing external filings and applications including HST, workers compensation, NRC and insurance renewals
  • Development and improvement of accounting procedures and controls.
  • Extracting data from the current system and preparing meaningful, value-added operational analysis and reporting for the Management Team to manage and grow the business.
  • Working closely with the Management Team in evaluating the current processes and determining the best plans to assist the Management Team.
  • Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing ad-hoc operational and financial reports, as requested.
  • Oversee IT, including software and hardware management, network access and SharePoint administration.
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B Comm, BBA or equivalent). CPA designation preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Dynamics SL Software experience would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and Provincial laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
