Maderra Personnel is currentlyseeking a skilled Automation Specialist with extensive experience in Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) Distributed Control Systems (DCS). This position is an 8 days on / 6 days off site-based rotational role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, configure, and implement automation solutions using Honeywell Experion PKS DCS platforms.
  • Develop and modify control strategies, graphics, alarms, historian configurations, and operator interfaces within Experion PKS.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and resolve issues related to DCS hardware, software, controllers, networks, and field communications.
  • Support control system upgrades, migrations, expansions, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, loop checks, and commissioning activities for automation systems.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate HAT, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Review and interpret engineering documentation including control narratives, shutdown keys, cause & effect matrices, P&IDs, alarm lists, and wiring drawings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to system configurations, backups, changes, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to ensure reliable and safe plant operations.
 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Honeywell Experion PKS DCS systems in industrial or process control environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Honeywell Experion PKS configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Experience with Honeywell controllers, servers, operator stations, and system architecture.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell Safety Manager or integrated safety systems is considered an asset.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate HAT, FAT, and SAT activities.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience with control system networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently in plant, commissioning, and project environments.
  • Willingness and ability to work an 8/6 rotational site schedule in an industrial operating environment.
