We are seeking a seasoned Oncology Clinical Informaticist to support a contract engagement centered on workflow evaluation, documentation, and requirements gathering across oncology diagnostic environments. This role serves as a critical liaison between clinical operations, diagnostic technologies (imaging, laboratory, pathology, infusion), and enterprise systems, ensuring workflows are thoroughly understood, clearly documented, and positioned for future optimization. The ideal candidate brings deep oncology domain expertise, strong informatics acumen, and the ability to effectively engage senior clinical and IT leadership.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Diagnostic Workflow Evaluation & Mapping.  
   · Conduct comprehensive current-state workflow evaluations across oncology diagnostic environments. Map workflows across:
   · Clinical processes
   · Diagnostic machines and equipment (imaging, lab analyzers, pathology systems, infusion-related technologies)
   · Supporting systems and data flows
   · Document end-to-end workflows, dependencies, and handoffs across departments
   · Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within existing workflows
    
   2. Documentation & Requirements Gathering
   · Develop clear, structured workflow documentation and process maps
   · Capture detailed business and technical requirements tied to clinical workflows and diagnostic technologies
   · Translate clinical workflows into actionable requirements for future system or operational improvements
   · Highlight opportunities to apply best practices where appropriate (without leading design or implementation)
    
   3. Clinical Informatics Support
   · Assess alignment between oncology workflows and EMR platforms (Meditech, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, Mosaic, or similar)
   · Evaluate how diagnostic systems and devices interface with EMR and supporting technologies
   · Document data flow, integration points, and system dependencies
    
   4. Stakeholder Engagement
   · Interface with clinical leadership and executive stakeholders (CMIO, CIO, Oncology Leadership, etc.)
   · Conduct structured interviews and working sessions to gather workflow insights and requirements
   · Communicate findings clearly to both clinical and technical audiences
   · Provide concise summaries and documentation to support executive decision-making
    

Key Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or clinical operations
  Strong oncology experience, particularly within diagnostic and treatment workflows (imaging, lab, pathology, infusion)
  Demonstrated expertise in:
  • • Workflow evaluation and mapping
    • Requirements gathering and documentation
    • Cross-functional workflow analysis (clinical processes, systems, and devices)
• Experience with at least one major EMR platform (e.g., Meditech, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, Mosaic, or similar)
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
• Clinical background (RN or experience in oncology, radiology, or laboratory settings)
• Experience with system integrations, interoperability, or interfaces (e.g., HL7, LIS, imaging systems)
• Prior consulting experience in complex healthcare environments
