The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring that surgical instruments and supplies are readily available. The Surgical Technician plays a critical role in supporting patient safety and contributing to efficient surgical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Surgical Procedure Support
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures.
- Maintain the sterile field and adhere to infection prevention protocols.

Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred; certification may be required based on state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
