Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and qualification of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications. This role requires advanced analog and digital circuit-design expertise, experience leading complex technical projects, and the ability to direct engineering activities across multiple programs.
The Lead Electrical Engineer will provide technical direction, mentor electrical engineering staff, lead design reviews and testing activities, conduct failure investigations, and serve as a primary technical interface with internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance and defense applications.
-
Design circuits incorporating differential amplifiers, operational amplifiers, LDOs, filters, data converters, logic gates, flip-flops, and timers.
-
Perform circuit-tolerance analyses using hand calculations and SPICE simulation tools.
-
Lead the development, refinement, verification, and compliance assessment of technical requirements.
-
Direct testing activities throughout all phases of the product-development lifecycle.
-
Prepare and review brassboard, design-verification, qualification, and firing-properties test reports.
-
Lead structured failure investigations using 8D, fishbone, cause-and-effect, and related root-cause analysis tools.
-
Develop technical materials and lead internal and external design reviews across all stages of product development.
-
Serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders and external customers.
-
Provide labor, material, and technical estimates in support of Requests for Proposals.
-
Develop Engineering Orders and Engineering Change Proposals.
-
Lead large-scale technical projects from initial concept through completion with minimal guidance.
-
Mentor electrical engineering staff and provide technical direction across project teams.
-
Manage technical priorities and deliverables across multiple simultaneous projects.
-
Ensure engineering designs, testing, and documentation comply with customer, quality, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
-
At least nine years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
-
At least five years of experience designing analog circuits, including differential amplifiers, operational amplifiers, LDOs, filters, and data converters.
-
At least five years of experience designing with digital building blocks, including logic gates, flip-flops, and timers.
-
At least four years of experience with power-conversion concepts, including AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, linear power supplies, and switching power supplies.
-
At least five years of experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, and other standard laboratory equipment.
-
At least four years of experience using schematic-capture or PCB-layout tools such as Altium or PADS.
-
At least four years of experience leading large-scale technical projects from initiation through completion with minimal guidance.
-
At least four years of experience preparing for and participating in internal and external design reviews.
-
At least four years of experience creating technical documentation, including test plans, test reports, drawings, and engineering records.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, testing activities, and complex failure investigations.
-
Strong project leadership, technical communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills.
-
Ability to lead and manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience designing electronics for aerospace, defense, missile, weapons, or ordnance applications.
-
Experience developing ruggedized electronics for demanding operational and environmental conditions.
