We are an established and reputable Brooklyn tax firm looking for a skilled tax preparer who wants to wear two hats: executing high-volume individual tax returns during tax season and stepping into operational accounting for our partner businesses throughout the year.

If you love solving complex tax puzzles but also want hands-on experience in corporate day-to-day accounting, financial operations, and business strategy, this role offers the perfect blend.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Volume Tax Prep: Prepare and review a high volume of complex individual (Form 1040) tax returns efficiently and accurately during peak tax season.
• Tax Advisory: Identify tax planning opportunities and provide clear advice to individual clients.
• Operational Accounting: Partner directly with our related operating business, handling day-to-day financial management, month-end closes, and operational reporting.
• Business Integration: Work closely with leadership to analyze operational efficiency and streamline accounting processes across related entities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Credentials: Active Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (Required).
• Tax Experience: Proven track record in high-volume individual tax preparation.
• Accounting Skills: solid understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements, and operational accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online).
• Mindset: Adaptable, detail-oriented, and excited to switch gears between public tax practice and private business operations.
