Job Title: Dentist (DDS/DMD) – Correctional Facility

Schedule:
- Initial: Two (2) days per week until patient backlog is addressed
- Ongoing: 2–3 times per month
- Preferred clinic days: Flexible, including weekends
- Hours: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
Position Overview
Complete Mobile Dentistry is seeking a licensed Dentist (DDS/DMD) to provide on-site mobile dental services at St. Clair County Jail. This role is part of a mobile dental unit delivering essential dental care to an incarcerated population of approximately 175–200 detainees.
The Dentist will work alongside a Dental Assistant and provide treatment-focused care to address a current patient backlog. Services are delivered in a designated room within the facility, using mobile equipment.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental evaluations and limited exams
- Provide restorative procedures (fillings)
- Perform extractions as needed
- Deliver emergency and problem-focused dental care
- Take diagnostic X-rays using mobile X-ray equipment (if included in unit setup)
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Adhere to correctional facility protocols and security requirements
Note: Routine cleanings have not historically been provided. Care is primarily issue-based and treatment-focused.
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
- Active and unrestricted Illinois dental license
- DEA registration (if applicable)
- Pass a drug test
- Pass background screening
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain correctional facility clearance
- Experience in public health, mobile dentistry, or correctional dentistry preferred
- Comfortable working in a structured, security-regulated environment
