Salary: $80,953 – $108,488 annually

Overview
We are hiring a Materials Planner to manage the procurement and inventory of packaging materials that support daily production operations. This role is responsible for ensuring materials are available on time, inventory levels are accurate, and supply chain processes run efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and maintain optimal inventory levels of packaging materials to support production schedules
- Create and process purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery from suppliers
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including negotiating terms and pricing
- Partner cross-functionally with production, scheduling, and procurement teams to align material availability with demand
- Analyze historical usage and market trends to forecast material needs and adjust procurement strategies
- Monitor material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality
- Ensure all materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Generate and analyze reports related to inventory, usage, and procurement performance
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives including cycle counts and physical inventory reconciliation
- Participate in product development, packaging design discussions, and brand-related initiatives
- Maintain ERP system accuracy, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all SKUs
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain or procurement within a manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years of experience in materials planning
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Experience working in cross-functional, team-oriented environments
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Navision preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented with a strong process-driven mindset

- Adhere to all OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Support food safety and quality systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based environment within a manufacturing setting
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Visual acuity for reading, data analysis, and computer tasks
