Location: Oakdale, California (On-Site)

Compensation: $125,000-$145,000 annually, depending on experience, plus annual bonus opportunity.

Talent Group Executive Search has been exclusively retained to identify an experienced Controller for a well-established, privately backed manufacturing company in Oakdale, California.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in manufacturing environments and enjoys partnering with operations to improve financial performance. The Controller will serve as the organization's senior financial leader, overseeing all accounting operations while driving costing accuracy, inventory management, financial reporting, and future ERP implementation.

Candidates with strong manufacturing cost accounting experience who are currently Accounting Managers and ready to step into a Controller role are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting.
• Own inventory valuation, standard costing, BOMs, manufacturing variances, and cost accounting.
• Partner with operations to improve profitability and manufacturing performance.
• Develop KPIs and financial reporting for executive leadership.
• Manage physical inventory and cycle count programs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits and outside accounting partners.
• Assist with ERP implementation and continuous process improvements.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Maintain internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing accounting experience.
• Strong background in:
  • Cost accounting
  • Inventory accounting
  • Standard costing
  • Manufacturing variance analysis
• Experience working within ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.

Preferred

• CPA or CMA designation.
• Experience in manufacturing environments such as food & beverage, consumer products, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or similar regulated industries.
• Experience with private equity-backed organizations.
• Previous ERP implementation experience.
