CNC Lathe Setup / Programmer – 1st Shift (Direct Hire)

Genesee County, MI

We are seeking a high-level CNC Lathe Setup & Programmer to join a growing manufacturing team in Genesee County. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for an experienced professional who can step in and contribute immediately—this is for an experienced CNC Machinist and is not a training position.

The ideal candidate is confident setting up, programming, and running CNC lathes with minimal supervision. Experience with STAR CNC lathes is highly preferred, but candidates with strong CNC lathe backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

• Opportunities for Overtime

What You’ll Do

• Set up and program CNC lathe machines from prints and specifications

• Edit and optimize CNC programs for efficiency, quality, and cycle time

• Run first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure quality standards

• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues

• Work closely with engineering and production to meet output goals

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a CNC Lathe Setup / Programmer

• Ability to independently set up, program, and run jobs

• Experience with STAR CNC lathes is a plus

• Proficiency reading blueprints, GD&T, and tolerances

• Solid understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and production-driven
