Job Title: Medical Receptionist
Position Summary
The Patient Check-Out Representative plays a key role in providing excellent patient service while supporting the administrative and billing functions of the practice. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patients as they complete their visit, ensuring accurate scheduling, documentation, billing, and follow-up coordination.

Practice Manager
Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and act as a liaison for patients and family members

Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required chart documentation

Schedule tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments using the electronic health record (Allscripts) and online systems

Obtain insurance authorizations as needed

Submit prescriptions electronically to the appropriate pharmacy

Answer and route phone calls appropriately

Prepare recall letters and related patient documents

Reconcile encounter forms and generate daily recap and missing encounter reports

Perform charge entry, payment posting, and assist with billing questions

Balance cash drawers and submit daily collections to the Office Manager

Provide general administrative and clerical support

Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
Required:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Experience working in a medical office
-
At least one year of experience in charge entry and/or payment posting
Preferred:

Knowledge of medical terminology

Experience in healthcare administration
-
Strong computer skills, including electronic medical records and scheduling systems

Familiarity with customer service, clerical, and administrative procedures
