Machine Operator

Job Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday Shifts: 6am-2:30pm AND 12pm-7pm
Education: High School Diploma preferred

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Equipment Setup Technician to set up, test, adjust, and maintain production machinery using a combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer technologies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.  This is with a fantastic family-owned company.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory policies and procedures

• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Install and change molds on thermoforming machines according to production schedules

• Calibrate and adjust machinery using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and ring gauges

• Monitor gauges, dials, and machine indicators to ensure proper functionality

• Troubleshoot equipment issues, determine root causes of operating errors, and implement corrective actions

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment

• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with customer specifications and the company Quality Management System

• Verify functionality of safety equipment and ensure machine safeguards are operational

• Maintain accurate documentation within ERP and shop floor management systems

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read measuring tools and precision instruments accurately

• Familiarity with ERP systems and shop floor management software is a plus

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
