Job Title: CNC Operator (Lathes)

Location: Flint and Fenton, MI

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Days (8–10 hour shifts)

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Role Overview

We are seeking multiple skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to drive efficiency in our high-volume manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead the technical execution of machining projects, ensuring every component produced meets rigorous client specifications through expert setup and live machine management.

Core Duties

• Technical Setup: Independently manage the configuration and changeover of various vertical and horizontal machining centers. You will be expected to handle multiple complex setups (averaging 1–5 daily) to keep production on schedule.
• Process Refinement: Monitor machine performance in real-time, performing on-the-fly adjustments to tool paths, feed rates, and spindle speeds to optimize output and quality.
• Quality Assurance: Utilize precision instruments—including calipers, gauges, and micrometers—to execute critical first-article and mid-run inspections. You will be responsible for maintaining exceptionally tight tolerances throughout the shift.
• Tooling Oversight: Track tool life and wear patterns. Perform necessary tool swaps and calibrate offsets to ensure part uniformity across large production batches.
• Reporting: Maintain precise digital or manual records, including quality control logs and daily production output tracking.

Candidate Requirements

• Professional Background: A minimum of 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in a CNC production environment, with a strong emphasis on both machine setup and operational troubleshooting.
• Manual Proficiency: While this is primarily a CNC role, candidates with a background in manual machining (such as Bridgeport mills or traditional engine lathes) are highly encouraged to apply.
• Attention to Detail: Proven ability to read technical blueprints and verify complex geometries with high accuracy.
