GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning, designing, testing and implementing of IP networks to support MPLS Core, High Speed Data, Peering, VoIP and Wireless Backhaul Networks. Generate written engineering documentation to support the installation and configuration of IP Technologies.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work independently and be able to design, document, implement IP networks using OSPF and BGP protocols
- MPLS-based networking design development and implementation
- Baseline requirements, develop, test and certify design for customers’ services
- Evaluate Networking Vendors (Cisco, Ciena, etc.) OS releases; develop/test/certify/ to keep consistent/standardized IOS strategy for the IP Networks
- Document test plan to certify Cisco IOS(s) for Cisco infrastructure such as ASR 99XX, NCS 55XX, NCS 540 and ASR 9Ks.
- Design/Test/Configured IP routing including static and dynamic routing. Segment routing Knowledge/experience is highly desirable.
- Perform network maintenance, diagnostics work and provide technical support to cross-organizational teams and engineering associates
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IP Networking, or equivalent experience
- In depth knowledge of industry protocols including IP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP
- Working knowledge of Cisco IP Routing platforms: ASR 9912/9922, NCS Routers, etc.
- Technical Knowledge of Cable Systems and CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) is highly desirable
- Technical knowledge of Application layer 7 technologies
- Cisco CCNA required. Cisco CCNP, CCIE or Network Security certification is a plus.
- 4-6 years’ experience IP networks design, and MPLS/Segment Routing implementation
- Experience with network tools, network performance design and analysis
