Job Summary:
The Inventory & Shipping Specialist is responsible for accurately tracking, maintaining, and managing inventory within the warehouse. This role involves shipping / receiving, storing, dispatching, and moving goods throughout the facility, as well as ensuring that warehouse operations run efficiently and accurately. This is a highly active, fast-paced role that requires strong self-management, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities throughout the day.
This position is approximately a 50/50 split between inventory control and shipping / receiving responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, operating forklifts, lifting heavy materials, and utilizing Microsoft Office and QuickBooks accurately in a warehouse environment.
Essential Functions:
• Receive and process incoming stock and materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders.
• Prepare outbound shipments for both domestic and international shipments.
• Store goods in designated areas while maintaining an organized warehouse environment.
• Pick, pack, move, and stock orders accurately and efficiently to support production and customer needs.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies while maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility while safely handling heavy products.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and QuickBooks to track inventory, shipments, and warehouse transactions accurately.
• Manage daily workload independently and adjust schedule priorities based on operational demands.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely shipment completion.
• Assist in developing and improving inventory management procedures and warehouse systems.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment while following all company safety procedures.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Proven experience in warehouse, shipping / receiving, inventory control, or material handling roles, preferably 2+ years.
• Forklift experience required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• Comfortable working in a nonstop, physically active warehouse environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems; QuickBooks experience strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members across departments.
• Familiarity with inventory management techniques such as FIFO and JIT preferred.
Schedule / Work Environment:
• Monday through Friday at the EVS facility.
• Typical schedule will vary based on workload and operational demands.
• Start times may vary between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
• End times may vary between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
• Expected weekly hours are generally between 45–50 hours per week.
• Overtime paid after 40 hours.
• This role requires someone who can self-manage their schedule and complete the work needed each day with minimal supervision.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Capabilities:
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to work in warehouse conditions including dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
Salary:
Competitive hourly compensation with overtime available. Starting pay will depend on experience and qualifications
